Clarence Tang

As a Dance Artist, I am a student and practitioner to all facets of the art form. Understanding dance as a natural impulse to MUSIC, has defined my point of view. Whether it be in my living room, studio space, gathering of friends, audition, or the streets, to move to MUSIC has been the most familiar feeling to my soul.

The Studio has been the first home to my practice of Dance. It is also the first place where I learned the concepts of discipline, hard work and perseverance that create strong technique. In the studio, I have been able to build skills in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Locking, Popping, Waacking, Hip Hop, Salsa and Ballroom with my community’s most distinguished instructors as my guide.

Out of the Studio is where I release from the rules and boundaries of what I have learned and discovery is the only option. The stage, battles, cyphers, dance floors and anywhere MUSIC is playing is where I create. In these places style, individuality and presence are essential and I only have the MUSIC to guide me. 

MUSIC, has led me to collect many skills which I use as tools express myself. My path is ever changing but with MUSIC, I will always know where I am going.
